Brades Lodge, based in Sandwell undertook the HugglePetsCIC Animal Assisted Intervention Programme to help improve the wellbeing of their pupils. Having chosen the 'Building the Confidence, Self Esteem and Resilience' six week programme for their pupils, they noticed a considerable difference in the moods, behaviours and overall wellbeing of the children within a couple of weeks of attending our sessions.

Feedback from the School include:

Thank you for a lovely programme, we have really enjoyed visiting yourselves and meeting the animals. I feel all of the students have enjoyed visiting HugglePets and this will support their emotional development. Hopefully we can work with yourselves again in the future!

Meet Junior

Feedback from the Therapist include:

Junior appeared to enjoy sessions at HugglePets. With support he would happily complete activities in the work booklet but was often reluctant to share information himself, preferring a member of staff to do it for him. Junior came to life each time an animal was bought out in the session, often wanting to hold them twice and his favourite was definitely Rhonda the Rat.

Meet Ibrahim (Ibby)

Feedback from the Therapist include:

Ibrahim was very unsettled in our first session, however he settled more and more each week. The last session Ibby attended, he sat throughout, engaged well in booklet activities and showed more independence in group discussions. I can see Ibrahim has a very good relationship with Kurtis who supported and encouraged him through most sessions. Ibby wasn't always sure about our reptiles but tried where he could to interact which showed real resilience.
