Shenstone Lodge, based in Staffordshire undertook the HugglePetsCIC Animal Assisted Intervention Programme to help improve the wellbeing of their pupils. Having chosen the 'Building the Confidence, Self Esteem and Resilience' six week programme for their pupils, they noticed a considerable difference in the moods, behaviours and overall wellbeing of the children within a couple of weeks of attending our sessions.

Meet Jake

Jake was referred to our programme via the school as he was struggling with with his confidence and building relationships with others, and was recommended to attend our Building Confidence, Self Esteem and Resilience programme. Here is the feedback from both his Class Teacher and the HugglePetsCIC Therapist.

Feedback from the School include:

Jake has been excited to come every week and meet new animals. He has enjoyed asking questions and learning new things about each animal. He has been confident with filling the booklet out and speaking about his feelings, which is not always the case when he is a school environment.

Feedback from the Therapist include:

Jake was quite open and honest when sharing ideas and feelings following booklet activities. Jake had lots of interesting questions for our animal handlers, which was lovely to see.
