Meet our Animals

Meet our Reptiles

Lillie the Leopard Geko

Lillie is around 3 years old and she originates from Asia and Middle Eastern countries. Lillie was adopted by HugglePets to be a therapy animal. She loves to eat insects like locusts, crickets and mealworms. Lillie lives in an environment filled with foliage, sand and rock with a UV lamp to keep her warm. Lillie is an adult now so she prefers to live on her own.

Interesting facts - Lillie was born missing an arm but it doesn't stop her from doing anything. Lillie also sheds her skin and eats it for nutrients.

Nala the Crested Geko

Nala is a crested gecko and she originates from New Caledonia. Nala enjoys living in a warm environments where she has plenty of branches to climb. Her favourite thing to eat is medium sized locusts.

Fun fact - Nala is really good at jumping and can jump from one person's hand to the other.

Barbara the Bearded Dragon

Barbara is 4 years old and was rescued by HugglePets to be a therapy animal. She originates from Australia where it's nice and warm.

Bearded dragons can live between 10 and 12 years and like to live on their own. Barbara enjoys eating live bugs like locusts and mealworms in her rocky and sandy enclosure.

Fun fact - Her spikes are not that spikey, they are just to scare off predators.

Barry the Bearded Dragon

Barry is around 1 year old and originates from Australia where it is nice and warm. Barry enjoys eating live locusts which he can hunt in his rocky and sandy enclosure.

Interesting fact - Bearded dragons are the most popular reptile pet as they are kind and active in the daytime.

Fred the Frog

Fred is a white tree frog who originates from Australia. Fred is about 3 years old and loves to eat wax worms, locusts and crickets. Fred lives in a humid environment made up of tree stumps.

Interesting fact - Fred has a waxy texture instead of slimy because he retains water.

Raphael the Tortoise

Raphael is a red footed tortoise and he is 1 year old. Red footed tortoises can live up to 90 years old! Raphael enjoys eating fruit and veg but also enjoys pinkies (baby mice). He lives in an enclosure containing wood chips and a heat lamp to keep him warm.

Interesting fact - Red footed tortoises have strong jaws since they eat meat and veg.

Donatello the Tortoise

Donatello is 2 years old and was adopted by HugglePets. He is a horsefield tortoise so he can live for over 80 years!

He can live with other tortoises when they have been bonded but Donatello prefers to live on his own. He enjoys eating fruit and veg in his soil-based enclosure.

Fun fact - Donatello enjoys having a bath.

Meet our Furries

Murphy the Dog

Murphy is our Therapy dog and he is 2 years old. Murphy enjoys learning new tricks so he can get yummy treats as a reward. Murphy sleeps on a comfy bed in his house and goes for lovely long walks with his family. Murphy is a red fox lab retriever so he originates from Scotland.

Fun fact - Murphy's favourite toy to play with is a tennis ball.

Gav the Guinea Pig

Gavin is our 2 year old guinea pig and was adopted from the HugglePets shop to be a therapy animal. He can live between 4 and 8 years old and originates from South America. Gavin can live in groups but he enjoys his own space.

Guinea pigs are herd animals usually. Gavin enjoys eating pellets, fruit and veg in his sawdust and straw enclosure.

Fun fact - Gavin has an odd number of toes.

Gus The Guinea Pig

Gus is almost 2 years old and was adopted by HugglePets when he was a baby.

Gus can live between 4 and 8 years and originates from South America. Gus prefers to live on his own as he likes his own space. He enjoys eating pellets, fruit, veg and hay in his home which is made up of sawdust and straw.

Fun fact - Gus has a tickle spot that makes him very talkative!

Gregory the Guinea Pig 

Gregory (Greg) is our youngest therapy Guinea Pig at just a few months old. Gregory lives with his teddy bear in his own enclosure made up of sawdust, hay and straw. Gregory enjoys eating pellets, fruit and veg.

Interesting fact - Guinea Pigs are very social animals and are truly happy when with other guinea pigs.

Bella the Bunny

Bella is our youngest therapy rabbit at just a few months old. She is a Dutch rabbit and can live between 8 to 12 years old. Bella now lives in her own enclosure made up of sawdust, hay and straw. Bella enjoys eating pellets, fruit and veg.

Interesting fact - Rabbits teeth continuously grow so they need toys to help keep them short.

Millie The Rabbit

Millie is 5 years old and was adopted by HugglePets. She is a lionhead crossed with a lop rabbit. This is why she has very long fur around her neck. She can live between 8 to 12 years and likes to live on her own, so she has her own space.

Millie enjoys eating pellets, fruit, veg and hay in her home made up of sawdust, hay, straw and litter tray.

Fun fact - Millie can only have one carrot a week as they contain too much sugar.

Rosie the Rat

Rosie is only a couple of months old and lives with her sister Remi. Rosie enjoys to eat rat pellets, fruit and veg. Rosie lives in her big cage containing toys, a bed and shredded bedding.

Interesting facts - Rosie uses her long tail to help her balance. Rats don't have very good eyesight so they use their nose as their main sense when exploring new places.

Remi is only a couple of months old and lives with her sister Rosie. Remi enjoys to eat rat pellets, fruit and veg. Remi lives in her big cage containing toys, a bed and shredded bedding.

Meet our Invertebrates

Roachy the Cockroach

Roachy is a Madagascan hissing cockroach and will live for about 7 to 8 months old. It takes 36 days for a cockroach to become an adult. They enjoy eating fruit and veg and can usually be found in big groups.

Interesting fact - Roachy is very resilient as he has a strong exoskeleton that would allow him to survive a nuclear blast.

Twiggy the Stick Insect

Twiggy is a sunny stick insect who originates from the Philippines. Twiggy can live for up to 2 years and enjoys eating bramble. He enjoys living in a group with other stick insects in an enclosure containing dirt.

Interesting fact - Stick insects sway in the wind to make themselves look like leaves so predators can't see them.

Mervin the Millipede

Mervin is 1 year old currently but can live up to 3 to 5 years. Mervin enjoys eating fruit and veg and lives in a soil-based enclosure that has to be kept moist.

Interesting fact - 750 legs is the largest number of legs recorded on a millipede. Mervin is still growing so will grow more legs as he gets older. Mervin also has little bugs that live on him and keep him clean.

Gary the African Land Snail

Gary is an African Land Snail so he originates from East Africa. Gary enjoys a varied diet of fruits and vegetables, especially leafy greens. Gary lives in a humid environment made up of soil substrate.

Interesting fact - If you put both your fists together, that's how big Gary will get when fully grown.
