SEN Jobs in the Box

HugglePetsCIC – SEN Jobs in a Box

HugglePets in the Community are passionate about offering opportunities to children and young people with physical or mental health difficulties who would not usually find themselves a work experience placement due to many obstacles.

Inspiring Careers Through Sensory Learning

SEN Jobs in a Box is an innovative and inclusive careers education programme from HugglePetsCIC, designed to make work experience accessible and engaging for young people — especially those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or physical and mental health challenges.

Through themed boxes filled with sensory resources and interactive online tools, pupils can explore exciting careers in animal care, such as Dog Trainer, Dog Groomer, and Dog Walker — all within a safe and supportive classroom environment.

What’s Included

Each SEN Jobs in a Box package (£750 + VAT) provides everything schools need to deliver the programme confidently and effectively:

  • Sensory items relating to a range of animal-care careers

  • HugglePets uniform for role-play activities

  • Teacher pack with detailed session plans and delivery guides

  • Printable handouts (USB included)

  • Access to SMART software and interactive online activities

  • Recorded audio delivery for flexible, guided sessions

  • Mock interview resources to build confidence and employability skills

Replenishing items can easily be reordered online, ensuring the programme remains sustainable for future cohorts.

Who is this programme for?

SEN Jobs in a Box is designed for:

  • Primary-aged pupils, and

  • Students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

The programme offers an inclusive, sensory-based introduction to the world of work — helping every pupil discover their potential through hands-on exploration.

How does it work?

Schools receive all the resources and guidance needed to deliver the sessions independently, supported by HugglePets experts.
With step-by-step lesson plans, interactive digital tools, and sensory props, teachers can bring each career to life through immersive classroom experiences.

Pupils gain meaningful insight into real job roles, building essential communication, teamwork, and practical life skills along the way.
