The Royal Seniors School, based in Wolverhampton undertook the HugglePetsCIC Animal Assisted Intervention Programme to help improve the wellbeing of their pupils. Having chosen the 'Low Mood & Anxiety and Building Confidence, Self Esteem and Resilience' six week programme for their pupils, they noticed a considerable difference in the moods, behaviours and overall wellbeing of the pupils within a couple of weeks of attending our sessions.

Meet Rynaya

Rynaya was referred to our programme via the school as she was struggling with Anxiety and was recommended to attend our Low Mood & Anxiety programme. Here is the feedback from both her Class Teacher and the HugglePetsCIC Therapist.

Rynana really enjoyed the programme, she initially didn't want to take part and is very low in mood in general around school. Since taking part in the HugglePets programme she has seemed to interact with myself more positively and has been looking more positive around school. Her mood does seem to have lifted and during the interaction with the animals it was nice to see how upbeat Rynana was taking part.

Feedback from the Therapist include:

Rynaya presented quite reserved throughout session and when taking part in group discussions, however as soon as it was her turn to hold our therapy animals, she would really smile.

Meet Tanisha

Tanisha was referred to our programme via the school as she was struggling with anxiety and social interactions, and therefore was recommended to attend our Building Confidence, Self Esteem and Resilience programme, to encourage personal development to make new friends. Here is the feedback from both her Class Teacher and the HugglePetsCIC Therapist.

Tanisha grew in confidence whilst taking part in the HugglePets programme, although outwardly quite vocal at times, she is unsure of herself. I think the interaction with animals in particular for Tanisha was a confidence boost and she was bale to pick up some self help tips along the way too.

Feedback from the Therapist include:

Tanisha participated in this group well, always offering confident and thoughtful answers to questions. Tanisha appeared to enjoy the animal interactions too.
