Our Lady St Chads, based in Wolverhampton undertook the HugglePetsCIC Animal Assisted Intervention Programme to help improve the wellbeing of their pupils following the pandemic and closure of schools. Having chosen the 'Anxiety and Low Mood' six week programme for their pupils, they noticed a considerable difference in the moods, behaviours and overall wellbeing of the children within a couple of weeks of attending our sessions.

Feedback from Teachers include:

Cody has engaged well the HugglePets programme. He listened well and engaged in all activities in the booklet. When the animals come out, Cody talks a lot more, about the animals and about everyday things. He opens up a bit more and talks more openly then engaging with the animals.

Amberley, with Gus the Guinea Pig  Sarah, with Barbara the Bearded Dragon Cody, with Gus the Guinea Pig

Feedback from Teachers include:

Amberley has engaged in all sessions with HugglePets. She is quietly spoken but has taken part in all activities in the booklet. I think by speaking out in front of the group has helped with her confidence. I think she has gained some valuable skills to use in moving forward.

Class Teacher

Brett has engaged well in all of the sessions. He has gained some vital skills in order to deal with feelings and emotions. He has taken these out of the sessions and uses them in the classroom. He speaks more openly to staff and parents about his feelings. He loves Gus the Guinea Pig. Bought a smile to his face every week!
